ZOOM Meetings Quickstart Guide
Is it your first time using the Zoom software? Not exactly sure where to start? No worries! We understand it can be a little daunting at first look, especially for those who don't consider themselves to be computer savy. That's why we've created this easy Quickstart Guide to Zoom Meetings. At MeetingDirectory.com our goal is to assist in keeping people connected all around the globe, using modern technology, as their physical meeting places become temporarily unavailable or unsafe due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
Learn how to set up a Zoom account for the first time if you don't already have one, sign into your Zoom account, join a Zoom meeting, and also how to use the in-meeting controls to make your chat experience more pleasant.
Signing In or Joining
After launching Zoom click Join a Meeting to join a meeting without signing in. If you’d like to log in and start or schedule your own meeting, click Sign In.
To sign in use your Zoom, Facebook, or Google account. If you haven’t created an account yet, click Sign Up Free. If you have already created a Zoom account but don’t remember your password, click Forgot? In the Password field.
Zoom Home
Upon signing in you will see the Home tab. From here you can access the following options:
New Meeting: Click New Meeting to start an instant meeting. Click the arrow to enable video or use your personal meeting ID for instant meetings.
Join: Click Join to join a meeting that is currently in progress.
Schedule: Click Schedule to set up a future meeting.
Share Screen: Click Share Screen to share your screen in a Zoom Room by providing the sharing key or meeting ID.
My Account
Click on your profile picture to access your Account Settings.
From here you have the following options: Settings, Status (Available, Do Not Disturb, or Away), My Profile, Help, Check for Updates, About Zoom, Switch to Portrait View, Sign out.
Meetings
Click the Meetings tab and then Upcoming to View, Start, Edit, or Delete your scheduled meetings.
In-Meeting Controls
While in a meeting, you can access the meeting controls located at the bottom of the window. You may need to move your mouse in the Zoom window to display the meeting controls.
